Air Mattress 101
Have you seen all of the ads that are out there for air mattresses? How do you narrow all of that information down to one? Here is the short and sweet on how to choose your next air mattress.
One of the most important things to think about when buying an air mattress is who will be using it. The kids? Your brother? You don’t want to buy a small , thin mattress if your Uncle Fred and his ample wife are the ones to sleep on it. In this case you are going to want to have a sturdier built air mattress. This means a thicker ply would be more durable and dependable than a single ply. The thicker the ply the sturdier. Remember that!
Another thing to think about is comfort. You don’t want to have people coming over to your house to sleep and then leave, only to go directly to the chiropractor. There are air mattresses that have adjustable firmness controls, these are my favorites because they can be made softer or firmer by a push of a button. Some of the air mattresses that are built for two persons have a control for each person. Can you say REMOTE CONTROL ? Yes, there are even some air mattresses with this delightful accessory.
Some other important things to pay attention to are air chambers and the kind of top on the mattress itself. If you are like myself you do not care to sleep on what feels to be a bunch of tubes sewn together, making it impossible to get comfortable. The best air mattresses have different kinds of designs and tops to make the bed more comfortable. They feel like you are sleeping on an even surface. What guest wouldn’t appreciate that?
In this recession I believe that the intelligent shopper should invest in a quality air mattress that will hold up to any given situation without worry. There are many manufacturers of quality air mattresses that also throw in a warranty to boot. Spend a little more money on something that will last years rather than the alternative of running out to by a cheapo at the last moment only to have it start leaking after the nephews recent jump-a-thon. Your guests will thank you and in the long run your billfold will to.
